Wedding Information
We are very pleased that we can share with you on this very special day in your lives. The following are the guidelines for having a wedding at our church. Please read them carefully and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Church Office. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday to Friday.
Booking the Minister and the Church:
It is important that you contact us as soon as possible. Often bookings are made one and a half years in advance. Bookings are considered final once the couple has met with the minister and a $50.00 deposit has been given to the office. This deposit is subtracted from the final wedding fees. You must also book a time to meet with the minister to plan the ceremony.
Choosing a Location:
Weddings may take place in either our main sanctuary (seating for 430) or our Church Parlour (30 seats).
Music:
Our Director of Music, John Zadro plays at all weddings. John may be reached at 763-1988. You must book a time to meet with him in order to choose your music.
Meter Bags for Parking:
To arrange for meter bags for reserved parking, please contact the City of Guelph Parking & Downtown Operations at 55 Macdonell Street, Guelph. They are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone (519) 837-5612.
Fees and Honouraria: (effective June, 2009)
Sanctuary or Parlour $300.00
Minister $175.00
Director of Music $125.00
Custodian $50.00
Total: $650.00
Final Payment:
A $50 deposit is required upon booking of your wedding. The balance of the fees are required 1 month prior to your wedding date. Payment is requested by cheque payable to Norfolk Street United Church.
Cancellation of Wedding Booking:
After the deposit has been received by Norfolk Street United Church, cancellations must be made a minimum of three months before the date of the wedding or the deposit is forfeited.
